On the Cross

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

Without the cross of Christ, Christianity is useless. Our attention is brought to that blood that bought our salvation. Jesus Christ, being God and Man, came down to earth that He might save sinners to Himself, yea, from God's just wrath. We cannot over-emphasize how much Christ has done for us!

Behold the Son of Man at the cross! Hands stretched wide open, to the left and to the right, whence love, mercy and justice meet in Him. In that cross of blood is our atonement. Our justification.

Will you, dear beloved, but pause and look with those underneath the place of skull, i.e., golgotha, to your Savior?

Behold the wonder and be humbled for your sin, yea, thank God that One greater satisfied and died for thee 'whilst still a sinner' (Romans 5:8). And you who art still a rebel, ah, come here at the cross by faith that thou might receive grace and forgivenness of thy sins. Come to Christ.

Come to Christ, however black your sin is! Come to Him and He will gladly receive you to His company of fellow sinners redeemed!

On Gethsemane

“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

The Garden Gethsemane is very significant in the leading events of our blessed Lord last final agonizing hours. The crucial war was won here. As in, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." So then, behold Gethsemane with tears. See His tears. The hot cup was presented here and fully drank at the cross!

The Unspoken Child

Behold, child! 'Tis a scary world we live in (21st century). But fret not for there are many faithfuls that fight for you. Now you're unable to speak (and defend yourself).

You've the imprint of God upon you, "Imago Dei," i.e., the image of God.

Alas, child! They teared you apart in the womb. They called you names. Names of an outcast. But remember, God beholds your blood and will reckon you.

Child, unspoken child.

Speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable.

– Proverbs 31:8. Emphasis mine.
