Frankenstein

I’ve been re-reading a science novel fiction, by Mary Shelley, called Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, an 1818 text. A powerful novel and a cautionary tale about the egoistic ambitions of human beings who seek to play God. Not to be confused with the Frankenstein movies of the 1930s, this is a very serious and profound work. It is deep and goes to show the human psyche in tremendous stretch. Get the novel; you’ll love it. It’s an important work that has shaped our world.

Has anyone of you heard of the book, or perhaps read it?

  1. One would have to have been living under a rock for the last 100 years not to have heard of Mary Shelley’s book, although most would have only experienced any knowledge of it by the credits in the movies made from it. This was one of the earliest illustrations that the book is almost always better than the movie!
