“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”– Ecclesiastes 3:1.
The whole world is a hospital and we are all terminal patients. Some sicker than others. Very well, then. If the youth [of] today do not think or strive to think for themselves, someone else will do so for them. I mean this, we must either pay allegiance to God or submit to the so-called totalitarian states and institutions.
We risk being God’s enemies because we have taken our friendship with the pastor(s) so high as to excuse (or even overlook) “another gospel” in them because “we’re friends” and “have come a long way” together. The fatal blow to faithfulness is compromise, however little.
There’s some incarnation of damning teachings that are posing threat to the PURE gospel of Christ Jesus. It is very subtle and hard to spot because the pastor has become a con artist in the pulpit; subtly and tactfully using the world’s term to try and explain the word of God. I refer to these type of teachings: Social Justice Gospel; Critical Race Theory/Intersectionality (CRT/I), etc.
Currently, it seems to me, what the youth are concerned with today (largely) is the issue with feminism and such…which is okay to be aware of such things, but that is not it. In following these [gender wars], many a youth have completely, if not totally, abandoned their Bible. The Bible is no longer regarded as the sole authority and canon (or rule/standard) of life.
Christ’s total claim is not taken seriously because His word is not regarded seriously. Jesus Christ was not merely a great teacher; He was more than a rabbi, He was not God, He IS God! He is, by His own confession “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” Those claims do not leave room for conjectures of who He said He was & is—God in flesh—the Incarnate Christ!
How do things stand with you? Has the world so clouded your reasoning and therein feel ashamed of this Christ, your Lord? Has the world made you too accomodating to sundry views that you know go against Christ’s claim? How do things stand with you?
When was the last time you really read and studied your Bible like your life depended upon it? Your life, be sure, depends upon what’s written betwixt its pages. Has social media and its pomp being more sweet than God’s message for you, in His word? How do things stand with you?
You see, dear beloved, we cannot know Christ truly if we keep off from our Bibles altogether and only open it when storm strikes. I’m not advocating any form of legality, but exhorting us that we’d be more intentional in our cultivating of our relationship and friendship with the Lord Christ Jesus.
It is only through true heart worship that we’d be able to enjoy a lasting fulfillment of God in Christ. The world and its pomp can give us momentary fulfillment or pleasure, but it is Christ who is the true Living Water and He alone can quench our thirst forever. It is Christ’s love, not Hollywood, that offers to die (and did die!) in our place.
Perhaps being young you’d say “Time is on my side” and that may be slightly true, but not the complete truth. Time is not yours. You’re not promised tomorrow, or today, or even now! What holds us together at this present time is God’s grace. God does not deal with us as our sins justly deserve because of His abounding mercy that is great “than sin in us.”
How do things stand with you? Do you know Christ as your Lord or just as an abstract? Christ Jesus is not surprised by your past failings or your current failings; He can still give and does offer you a brand new start and a happy future with Him! Our sins frighten us, but Christ promises to take them upon Himself so that you and I would stand justified before a Holy God, our Heavenly Abba, Father!
We only need to look up and submit to Christ. Ask Him to grant you faith and belief in Him and turn in repentance before God. Ask the Holy Spirit to convince and convict you of your sin and rebellion. Christ does not promise that our lives as Christians will be of health, wealth, and prosperity as some false teachers proclaim, no. He does promise to walk with us through our lot in life, knowing “all work for good for those who are in Christ Jesus and are called according to His purpose.”
In fact, Jesus Christ said explictly that we will suffer sundry tribulations and trials belowhere. Why? Because He also suffered and went through the same, even to a point of death, death on a cross—for our sake—He had no sin. So, if our Head suffered, we must suffer for His sake. He paid the grand price—death—so that we’ll not die the second [eternal] death! This is what it means to carry our cross and follow Him!
How do things stand with you today, dear beloved? Truly and seriously search your hearts and pray Christ to make abode with you. How do things stand with you?
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”– Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14.
